Daily meditation is a part of my self care toolkit. It took me a very long time to develop a regular practice because I thought there were rules and “perfect” ways to meditate. I resist rules and know perfect is bunk. The goal is to quite your mind and relax my body, not find perfection. Sometimes I am able to become quiet enough that I hear my Greater Power speak to me.
I use a variety of methods to meditate. I am more comfortable when I am on my back, though sometimes I will sit. My current favorite morning mediations is to lie with my legs up the wall and listen to the Aramaic Lord’s Prayer. I appreciate this interpretation of the prayer I have recited since childhood. I pull my yoga mat as close as I can, get my bum as close as I can to the floor board and run my legs up the wall. I hit play and let go.
Delightful. Stretching your body, stretching your soul. A good combo
