Driving into work this week, I listened to a podcast interview with Abby Greensfelder, the Executive Producer of LFG. Though the US Women team has won four World Cup titles and four Olympic gold medals they are paid much less then the men’s team. Per regular season game, players on the women’s team earn 89 cents to their male counterparts’ dollar, and the men make almost double in bonuses for World Cup appearances.
This documentary is an inside account of the U.S. women’s team fight for equal pay as told by many of the players including Megan Rapinoe, Jessical McDonald, Becky Sauerbrunn, Kelley O’Hara, Sam Mewis and others with a role in the fight.
I thought about the interview all day, so I that evening I signed up for HBO Max and watched the documentary. It is extremely well done. I felt connected to the women and their fight for equal pay. If one woman succeeds in equality, everyone succeeds. I was impressed with not only their talent, but also their unity, hard work, drive, dedication and goal of succeeding for all.

I’ve been following their fight in bits and pieces on the news so I look forward to seeing this documentary.

I agree with you, equality for one helps the equality of all. The documentary looks interesting. Thanks for the suggestion.

I’m going to add this to my watch list. I despise the fact that we still must fight this battle.
