Election Day

It’s tense out there with a mix of fear, anger and hope. Everyone is stressed, particularly when playing the doomsday-what-if-mind game.

I don’t have the answers, but I am taking care of business and my mental health. I have voted. I will not be following twitter or broadcast news. Tonight I am making dinner for myself and to share with neighbors. I will be painting while I listen to poll results. I’ll switch to listening to music when I fell my stress, fear, apocalyptic monkey brain take over

So much stress … partly because the parties have made the process so long and expensive. Certainly, money can be put to better use. Enjoy your painting … and I would favor the playlist over the news. Hang in there!

May our monkey brains not misbehave. Mine is misbehaving and all my spiritual practices have flown out the window. Better luck tomorrow. Wishing all of us moments where our nerves calm and we find our center again.

Yes, yes. I like your approach to this day and your evening plans. We’re making a pizza, watching an episode of Midsomer Murders, then peeking at what’s going on. I refuse to be drawn into the angst and details of every stinking state. Just give me the results.

As I am Canadian I cannot vote but we are all waiting with some considerable trepidation. I have decided not to look at any news tonight and will tune in to the radio when I wake up tomorrow. Although this is not our election the results will have a definite impact on Canada. I am hoping for the best and on behalf of all my American friends I hope there will not be serious unrest or violence following the results.
