Delight

“The quality of life is in proportion, always, to the capacity for delight. The capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention.”  Julie Cameron

Recently a podcast I was listening to reminded me of Praying Mantises and Stick Bugs. I saw them often when I was a child running feral in the woods of Kentucky, but realized I had not seen either in ages. Two days later I was taking photos and low and behold, there was a Praying Mantis!

Last week a close friend shared the Julie Cameron quote because it made her think of me. I am amazed by how just simply paying attention can bring and expand delight, joy, beauty, heal, kindness, empathy and love.

When was the last time you saw a Praying Mantis?
